1. Telephone Consultation (Remote Consultation)
In this case, the physician contacts the patient by phone at a pre-arranged appointment time.
There is no need for personal attendance; both the patient and the physician may be located anywhere, either within or outside national borders.
During the telephone consultation, the following steps take place:
- detailed medical history taking, including current symptoms, previous illnesses, and exact medication review
- if available, review of home-measured parameters using the patient’s own devices, such as: body weight, blood pressure, heart rate, blood glucose, home ECG recordings using personal applications or devices (e.g. Wiwe, smartwatches, etc.), oxygen saturation
- review of all relevant previous medical records available in the EESZT (Hungarian National Electronic Health System), including both public and private healthcare documentation
- preparation of a medical report, which is uploaded to the EESZT and also securely sent to the patient by email approximately 15 minutes after the consultation ends
- electronic prescription issuance via the EESZT, which can be redeemed at any pharmacy approximately 15 minutes after the consultation
- submission of specialist recommendations to the EESZT
- all documents uploaded to the EESZT can be accessed by the patient, their general practitioner, or other treating physicians
2. In-Person Consultation
The procedure is identical to that of the telephone consultation, supplemented by the following on-site diagnostic examinations:
- comprehensive physical examination
- calibrated tuning fork testing
- resting ECG, blood pressure measurement, blood glucose testing, oxygen saturation measurement
- arterial and venous mini Doppler examination
- echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound)
- exercise stress ECG (bicycle ergometry)
- 24-hour ECG Holter monitoring
- ABPM – 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
